Ricky Boggess

Ricky Boggess, 73, of Kenna, WV went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. He was born on May 29, 1952 in Charleston, WV to the late Dempsey and Arbutis (Milam) Boggess.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 50 years, Joyce (Anderson) Boggess of Kenna. Carrying on his legacy are his two daughters, Rachelle Boggess-Bennett (Roy) of Ripley and Jessica Boggess-Siders (William) of St. Albans; his three grandchildren Riley, Rihya and Ricci Bennett of Ripley; siblings Shirley Cipolla of Wooster, OH, Sandra Loar (Gary) of Metamora, OH and Kim McCready (Kevin) of Knoxville, TN. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his brothers, Kester, Ronnie and Kenton Boggess and sisters, Sheila Lovejoy and Donna Duff.

Rick was known for his love of tinkering, especially on antique cars and lawn mowers. He was previously employed by Orville Sayre/White Dodge for 20 plus years and retired from Consolidated Claims.

If you knew Rick, you know that he loved hunting and fishing, but above all else he had a burning passion for his antique cars. He loved attending car shows where he shared stories and plans for his next projects. If you were ever at Rick’s house you were either getting beat in his favorite card game, Rummy, or his favorite Wii game, bowling. There would always be a puzzle he was working on the kitchen table as well. He could often be heard singing hymns as his wife played piano with his favorite being Victory in Jesus.

Funeral service will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 3rd at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.
