Rita Faye Burgess

Rita Faye Noe Burgess, 82, of Ripley passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg.

Rita was born August 25, 1941 to the late Joseph and Bessie Noe. She was a homemaker who enjoyed going to church, making crafts out of plastics and canvas and collecting keychains, ceramic dolls and baseball cards. She also enjoyed cheering on the Cincinnati Reds.

She is survived by her children Tim Burgess, Pat Burgess, John Burgess and Ella Shamblin (Tony); sisters Phyllis Scroggins and Paulette Moss; grandchildren JJ, Travis, Travis Lee, TJ, Cole, Isaiah, Aiden, Jonathan, Peyton and Steven and great-grandchildren Auden and Charlie. She is also survived by a best friend who was like a sister, Wilma Dean Taulbee.

In addition to her parents Rita was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Eugene Burgess, son Ralph Burgess, stillborn daughter, grandson Kyle Shamblin; brother Woody Noe and sisters Murph Campbell and Ella Bailey.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 2nd at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Brent DeWees officiating. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
