Ritta Frances Casdorph, 79, of Ripley, WV, went home to be with the Lord on March 23, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on January 30, 1947, in Charleston, WV.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Ray and Irene Ray-Moore; her brother, David Ray; her sister, Mary Ellen Kessinger; and her brother-in-law, Ray Casdorph.
Ritta’s life was a beautiful example of love, devotion, and faith. As a wife, she shared a strong and lasting love with her husband, Mike. Together, they built a life centered on faith and family. As a mother, she was truly exceptional—selfless, nurturing, and always there. Her kind heart and gentle nature were the foundation of her family. Her children and grandchildren always knew they could count on her love and support.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 60 years, Mike Casdorph; her son, Greg Casdorph (Lisa); her daughter, Julie Casdorph Miller (Dave); her grandchildren, Madison Casdorph, Olivia Miller, and Luke Miller; her sisters, Barbara Casdorph, Hazel Meadows (Demra), and Doris Reece (Tom); her brother-in-law, Kenneth Kessinger; sister-in-law Linda Casdorph Shutts (John); and several nieces and nephews.
Ritta found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren. She loved watching them grow up and supporting them at their events. Her pancakes are a special memory they will always cherish because “no one makes them like Mamaw.”
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Ritta’s very special caregivers, Sade Rice and Maxine Tanner, as well as the hospice team Brittany, Lori, Sam and Abby for the compassion, comfort, and support they provided Ritta and the family during this time.
Ritta was a faithful member of Cornerstone Fellowship Church. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 28, 2026, with visitation from 12:00–1:00 p.m. and the service beginning at 1:00 p.m., with Pastors Karen Ritchie and Ford Price officiating. Per the family’s wishes, a private inurnment will take place later at Floral Hills Cemetery in Sissonville.
In lieu of flowers, Mike and Ritta request that donations be made to Cornerstone Fellowship Church (Building Fund). Contributions may be mailed to P.O. Box 4, Ripley, WV 25271, or sent via PayPal to Cornerstoneripley@gmail.com. A donation box will also be available at the church.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
