Robbie Allen Hancock

Robert “Robbie” Allen Hancock, 56 of Cottageville, West Virginia gained his angel wings on July 31, 2026 at Camden Clark Medical Center surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous fight against an aggressive lymphoma. He was born August 30, 1969 in Charleston, West Virginia and was the son of Judith “Judy” Ann (Ferrell) Hancock and the late Wallace Avel Hancock Jr. He was a 1987 graduate of Dupont High School, was a carpenter by trade, and later went on to own and operate his construction company, Trout Remodeling.

Robbie was married to the love of his life, Becky Jo Hancock, for 31 years. He was a devoted father to three children – Brittani, Alejandra “Ali”, and Nicholas and his greatest joy in life was being a proud PapPap to his grandchildren- Holden and Blaire- and he was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his third grandchild, Sadie Lynn, who is expected to be born later this year.

His children were the apple of his eye and he was front row at every event whether it be on a field or on the pageant stage gaining numerous friendships along the way. He enjoyed traveling to attend country concerts, trout fishing on the Shavers Fork River and hunting with Nicholas, baking cookies with Brittani, listening to classic rock ‘n’ roll music with Ali, and soaking up the sun and salty air at Virginia Beach. He was an avid WVU baseball fan and was proud to cheer on the Mountaineers during every game of the 2026 season including the NCAA Men’s College World Series. He was known as the family’s “weatherman” and always had the daily forecast ready for them. Although an outdoorsman, he was also known for quilting beautiful blankets and cooking delicious meals. Robbie was a selfless man who was always willing to lend a helping hand without hesitation and will be remembered for his kind heart.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Becky Jo (Sizemore) Hancock; his children, Brittani Nikole Jones (Tyler) of Parkersburg, WV, Alejandra Brook Stutler (Ryan) of Virginia Beach, VA, and Nicholas Davidson Hancock (Kayla) of Milford, VA; grandchildren, Holden Rhett Stutler, Blaire Madelyn Jones, and Sadie Lynn Hancock; mother, Judy Ann Hancock of Cottageville, WV; and brother, Kevin Wayne Hancock of Belle, WV. He is also survived by his father and mother-in-law, Jackie and Connie Sizemore of Maysel, WV; sister-in-law, Tracy Sizemore of Maysel, WV; and brother-in-law Jack Sizemore of Maysel, WV in addition to several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Robbie was welcomed at Heaven’s gate by his late father, Wallace Avel Hancock Jr., as well as his grandparents, Wallace and Josephine Hancock and Hank and Bell Ferrell.

The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude for the outpouring love and support they have received from family and friends over the course of Robbie’s treatment as well as to those who provided him excellent care at Camden Clark Medical Center WVU Cancer Institute and Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center. They wish to extend special thanks to Dr. Ronald E. Greer II; Catherine “Jo” Rockhold, CNP; Katelyn Welch, RN; Dr. Sabir Hussain; Dr. Jeffrey Ryckman; Dr. Salah Safi; and John Rizzo, PA-C.

His absence will be felt heavily but his life and memory will continue through his wife, children, grandchildren, family, and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Robbie’s honor to the Holy Pursuit’s Dream Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides hunting and fishing trips to children who have or have previously had a life-threatening illness or disease at no cost to them or their families.
