Rosalie Kiser Vicars of Ripley, WV went home to be with the Lord on December 22, 2021. She was born July 7, 1917 to Thomas and Olive Kiser in Roane County. She graduated from Walton High School in 1935. Rosalie was married to the late W.H. Vicars. She was also preceded in death by her oldes son, Jim, his wife Judy, infant sister Oma and three brothers, Harold, Thomas and Ray. Rosalie loved taking walks as long as she could, she thoroughly enjoyed all sorts of desserts, Hershey’s dark chocolate Kisses, “Upwords board game and “word find” books. She took sewing classes and also learned how to loom rugs. When Rosalie turned 100, she received the Key to the City of Ripley from Mayor Carolyn Rader. When she turned 104 in July, WTAP television from Parkersburg came to interview her as there was birthday drive by planned. Rosalie was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church in Ripley and attended the Ripley Tabernacle as she got older and gave up driving. She was on of Ripley’s first meter maids and was employed by the Sterling Dime Store for several years. Rosalie is survived by youngest son and caretaker, Stephen(Lanita) of Mineral Wells; four grandchildren Michelle (John) Nester, Shari (Gary) Davis, Vicki (Timothy) Chaney and Brian (Connie): 7 great-grandchildren, Jonathan Nester, Brandon (Heather Nester, Kelci (Zachary) Riebel, Tyler (Kate) Chaney, Lauren (Charlie), Noah Davis, and Cara Vicars; 5 great-great-grandchildren, Isabella, Peyton and Amelia Nester, Jayden Chaney and Winter Riebel. Rosalie was also survived by several nieces and nephew, special cousins and the Southall family. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Aaron Melhorn officiating. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Committal service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, December 30th at the Ferrell Cemetery in Roane County.
