Roy Jeff Boggess, 79, of Goldtown passed away Monday, November 6, 2023 at CAMC Memorial Hospice.
Roy was born March 1, 1944 at Kenna, WV a son of the late Robert and Liddie (Coleman) Boggess. Roy was a carpenter by trade who worked alongside his brothers for many years and later started his own company, RJ Boggess Construction. In his younger days Roy enjoyed going fishing
Roy is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Burna (Sheets) Boggess; siblings Nemo Boggess (Phyllis), Maggie Casto and Rigenia Slater (Mike); granddaughter Sarah Hill (Grant); great-grandchildren Bentley, Jacklynn, Aubrey and Everleigh; son-in-law Mark Thompson (Chrissy) and sisters-in-law Eva Jean Boggess, Rosemary Boggess and Hazel Boggess.
In addition to his parents Roy was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Roy Boggess; daughter Debbie Thompson and siblings Robert “Tuddie” Boggess, Stanton Boggess, Preston Boggess, Margaret Westfall and Roena Taylor.
The family would like to extended a special thank you to Mark and Chrissy Thompson, Aspen Saunders, our Spicewood nurse who was always there to help and Stacy Slack, who despite being sick was our family nurse
Funeral service with Military Rites performed by the Jackson County Honor Guard will be 1 p.m. Friday, November 10th at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico.
