Roy Edward "Eddie" Carter

Roy Edward “Eddie” Carter, 64, of Leroy went to his heavenly home on Saturday, December 9, 2017. He was born January 23, 1953 at Charleston, WV a son of the late Ralph E. and Madeline Jones Carter. Eddie was the pastor of Rush Creek Baptist Church in Spencer. He attended seminary and was ordained by the Southern Baptist Association of Columbia, SC. During his 25 years in ministry he pastored churches in South Carolina, North Carolina, Ohio, and West Virginia. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 31 years Sue Childress Carter; Sons Craig Carter (Erin) of Sissonville, Chad Carter of Los Angeles, CA, and Clint Carter of Granbury, TX; Grandchildren Cali Carter and Case Carter; Sister Linda Mcgilton of Charleston. He is also survived by special friends Ronnie and Samantha Batten. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Rev. Bob Keen officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in the Barnett Chapel Cemetery, Putnam County. Pallbearers will be Craig Carter, Chad Carter, Clint Carter, Case Carter, Ronnie Batten, and Skyler Childress.
