Eldon Roy Chase, 75 of Kenna, passed away at his home on Monday, August 19, 2024 after a long illness.
Roy was born on September 10, 1948 to Sallie Chase on their family farm on Stone Ridge in Jackson County. After graduating rom Ripley High School in 1967, Roy served his country in the US Navy where he became an Electrician.
Upon returning from the service, Roy started his career as a lineman with AEP and finished his career by retiring from Constellium Aluminum.
Throughout his life he enjoyed many hobbies…fishing, camping with family, installing the first bag phones in half the cars in the county and teaching hunters safety. But, his biggest passion was the many years he spent serving his community with the Ripley Volunteer Fire Department for 28 years.
Roy was preceded in death by his mom, Sallie Chase and his great grandson, Oak Darnold.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Linda; his childrenTracy (Dennis) Keefer, David Chase and Derrick Burdette; grandchildren, Emily (Jacob) Cunningham, Katie (Noah) Darnold, Laura (Ethan) Tabata, Kolton Chase, Michael Burdette, Jaelyn Garnes, Holli Brown, Cayenne Burdette and Rosalee Ramsey; great grandchildren, Waylon and Hallie Cunningham, Kolter and Scottie Jo Darnold and his twin brother, Ray Chase.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Monday, August 26, 2024 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery, Kentuck. Friends may call on the family from 1:00 pm until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
