Roy Edward White Sr.

Roy Edward White Sr., 85 of Ripley passed away June 19, 2017 at his home following a long illness. He was born August 24, 1931 in Jackson County, a son of the late Jess and Esta May Wright White. He worked in construction and surveying and loved farming, gardening and selling his produce. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Jean Wolfe White and daughter Peggy Jean Greathouse. He is survived by his sons, Roy Edward White Jr. and Rodney Erwin White; grandchildren Heidi Greathouse, Eddie Greathouse, Ethan White, Samantha Coon, A.J. Carpenter, Roy E. White IV, Keiah Stewart and Ashley White; great grandchildren John Grant Lane IV, Jacob Carpenter, Riley Carpenter, Hunter Carpenter, Ryder Ethan White, Reed Ethan White and Amy Coon; honorary grandson, Jason Cunningham; brothers Russel White, Charles White and Carl “Duck” White and sister Helen Balser. Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Friday, June 23, 2017 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Burial will follow in the Ravenswood Cemetery, Ravenswood. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Roy loved nature and being in the woods.
