Royal Delano "R.D." Carney, 82, of Millwood passed away April 30, 2016 at Hubbard Hospice House following a long illness. He was born August 29, 1933 at Given, a son of the late Jesse and Linnie Hill Carney. He was a well known contractor and Developer in Jackson County and is known as a man who enjoyed his work especially working with heavy equipment. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved coon hunting and fishing. R.D. was a big fan of WVU Football. He was a Christian by faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters Blondena Carney and Velmada Carney Williams and brothers Basil Carney, Darrell Carney and Harold Carney. He is survived by his daughters, Marsha McDonald and her husband Guy and Michele Mills; his grandchildren, Brittney McDonald Stewart, Chris Mills and Taylor Mills; great grandchildren Lillian Mills and Chloe Mills; brother Willard Carney; sisters Willa Jean Holderman, Mary Jane Barnette and Betty Lou Carney. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley . Entombment will be in the Jackson County Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
