Ruth Bowman

Ruth Frances (Fisher) Bowman, 85, of Statts Mills passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Jackson General Hospital.

Ruth was born March 13, 1938 at Statts Mills, a daughter of the late Denny Franklin and Wilma Annabelle (Fields) Fisher. Ruth enjoyed going to church at Prayer and Faith Church in Ripley and singing gospel music. She also enjoyed puzzle books and visiting with friends and family.

She is survived by her children John Bowman (Jennie) of Sandyville, Teresa Fields (Gary) of Sandyville, Debra Koon (Harold) of Ripley, Patricia Casto (Carol) of Long Hollow, Tammy Kessel (Richard) of Ripley and Mary Bowman of Fairplain; brothers Wendell Fisher and David Fisher; sisters Lou Jean Starcher and Mae Winters; grandchildren Jimmy Smith, Dawn Fore, Angela Gandee, T.J. Bowman, Tyler Bowman and Makayla Shamblin; great-grandchildren Briana Smith, Sawyer Fore, Jeremiah Goff, Noah Kay ,Mya Shamblin, Holly Garnes Paisley and Braxton Shamblin and Payton and Braxton Bowman and great great  grandchild Gunner Roush.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, John Junior Bowman; great-grandson Wyatt Akers; brothers Donald, Ronald and Henry Fisher and sisters Dorothy Hamrick and Arlene Watkins.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, July 10th at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
