Samuel Bailey

Samuel G. Bailey 90 of Leroy passed away at his home on March 2, 2014 following a short illness. He was born April 8, 1923 in Kanawha County a son of the late Howard and Minnie Knopp Bailey. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, retired from the Teamsters Local 175 and attended the Joe's Run Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Bailey and Brothers Charles and Fred Bailey. He is survived by his son Wayne Bailey and his wife Eurada; a sister Anna Burghart of Fredericksburg, VA; granddaughters Heather Dawn Jones ( Jeremy) and Christy Sue Badgley (Ben) all of Leroy; great grandsons Nathanael and Andrew Jones and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be 1 pm Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Arnold Conant officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Given. Friends may call from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Julie Reed, the nurses in ICU and Surgical at Jackson General Hospital and Dr. Brandon Cesteric for their kindness and care during his illness.
