Sandra Lee Meaige

Sandra Lee Edwards Meaige, 73, of Point Pleasant passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 17, 2021 surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born September 29, 1947 in Williamson, WV a daughter of the late Luther Lee and Geraldine Parks Cochran. Sandy was a Ripley High School graduate and retired from the Gallia-Meigs Community Action Agency as the Emergency Services Division Director after many years of service. Sandy is survived by husband, Nick Meaige; children Michael Whitt (Inez) of Point Pleasant, Mark Whitt (Julia) of Gallipolis Ferry and Tina Whitt of Point Pleasant; sisters Teresa Brannon of Point Pleasant, Becky Haning (Robert) of Lancaster, OH and Maryann Elliot (Dickie) of Point Pleasant; grandchildren Payton Waybright (Kasey), Brady Whitt (Amy), Tayyler Whitt, Sydnee Moore and Micah Whitt; great-granddaughter Reese Whitt. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and special loved ones, Emma and Aurora Diehl. In addition to her parents Sandy was preceded in death by a husband, Captain Sidney B. Edwards, Retired and an infant sister, Sharon Cochran. A funeral service to celebrate Sandy’s life will be held 1 p.m. Friday, July 23rd at New Hope Bible Baptist Church, 107 Robinson St., Point Pleasant, WV 25550 with Pastor Mel Mock officiating.
