Shannon D. Adams

Shannon Dean Adams, 50 of Ripley, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026 following an extended illness.

Shannon was born November 16, 1975 in Ripley, son of Hayward Carl Adams Jr. and Dottie Patterson Adams of Ripley. He graduated from Ripley High School with the Class of 1994. Shannon was a Christian and a member of the Grasslick Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, cooking, fishing, his cat and working in his garden. Shannon worked at A-1 Engine Rebuilders and Garage in Ripley as a Mechanic and Office Manager. The family would like to say a special thank you to his good friends, Tommy Workman and Linford Swartzentruber for their care and special friendship to Shannon.

Shannon was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hayward and Virginia Adams and Otho “Bump” and Elsie Patterson all of Ripley.

Left to cherish Shannon’s memory are his parents, Carl and Dottie Adams; his two children, E-6 Sargent Austin Adams of Navarre, Florida and Ashley Adams of Letart, WV; sister Carla (Kenneth) Staats of Given, WV and two nephews, Kevin Lockhart and family of Ripley and Warrant Officer Ryan Lockhart and family of Wiesbaden, Germany.

A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 8, 2026 at the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley with Pastor Rick Perrine officiating. Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley is serving the family.
