Sharon Kaye Rhodes

Sharon Kaye Rhodes, 75, of St. Albans passed away Thursday, January 30, 2020 at St. Mary’s Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born December 10, 1944 in Ravenswood, WV a daughter of the late Cecil and Elsie Dorene Knox. Sharon will be remembered as an amazing mother who loved raising her kids. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and doing laundry, as well as watching QVC and HGTV. She also liked outdoor activities such as gardening and watching the birds from her porch swing. She is survived by her children Amelia Ann Rogers (Kent), Joseph Mark Adams (Hilary), Susan Adams Greer, Christian Theodore Adams, Steven Boyd Fischer (Jennifer), and Matthew Lee Rhodes; brother Cecil Edwin Knox (Gloria); sister Betty Jean Manuadakis. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, David Knox Fischer and a brother, Richard Melvin VanKirk. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 4th at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Brother Steve Angus officiating. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville, WV.
