Sharon Lea Sutherland

March 9, 1936 — January 8, 2016

Sharon Lea (Richardson) Sutherland, 79 of Leroy, passed away January 8, 2016 at her home following an extended illness. She was born March 9, 1936 at Dunbar, a daughter of Ernestine Moles Chapman and the late Brady Richardson. Sharon graduated from Dunbar High School where she was a cheerleader. She was a Veterinary Assistant with Miller's Animal Clinic which was later named Kanawha Blvd. Animal Clinic for 40 years. She was a very active member of the Mill Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Ray Reed whom she married in 1954 and James Sutherland who passed away in September of 2015, and her step mother JoAnn Richardson. In addition to her mother she is survived by her son Mike Reed and his wife Julie of Ripley; daughter Carrie Stutler and her husband Ken; grandchildren Zach Reed and his wife Brandi, Zeb Reed and his wife Meghan and Charlea Taylor and her husband Nathan; great grandchildren Marion Grace and Vera Faith Reed, Eli Taylor and two great grandchildren on the way. ; half-sisters Pamela Conant, Teresa Reynolds, Jett Richardson, Vicki Hall and half- brother Scott Brady Richardson. She is also survived by a special, friend whom she thought of like a son, Kent Johnson. Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the Mill Creek Baptist Church, Frozen Camp, with Pastors Bob Keen and Herman Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the Baptist Grove Cemetery, Frozen Camp. Friends may call from 11:00 am until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Sharon's memory to the Mill Creek Baptist Church, 8415 Spencer Road, Leroy, WV 25252.
