Sherri F. Hutchinson

Sherri Fay Hutchinson, 68 of Ripley, passed away June 30, 2023 at her home following an extended illness.

She was born December 29, 1954 in South Charleston, WV, daughter of the late Hobert and Norma Zirkle Crum. She obtained her BS Degree in Botany from Marshall University in 1976 and an MS Degree in Forestry Protection from Duke University in 1978. Sherri worked for 35 years (1978-2013) for the WV Department of Agriculture ending her career as Director of Plant Industries Division. She was a member of West Ripley Baptist Church, WV Entomological Society, Society of American Foresters and enjoyed gardening, crocheting and quilting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde “Hutch” Hutchinson, a sister Terrie Crum and a brother Hobert Crum.

She is survived by her children, Allen (Heather) Hutchinson, Margaret Hutchinson, Carrie Hutchinson, Terry (Megan McDermott) Hutchinson; grandchildren, Olivia and Octavia.

Memorial Service will be held at the Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans at 1 p.m. Friday, July 28th.
