Shirley Jean Chancey

Shirley Jean Chancey, 66, of Ripley passed away August 25, 2015 at Jackson General Hospital following a long illness. She was born May 10, 1949 in Pineville, WV a daughter of Ray Shumate of Oceana and the late Pansy Adkins Shumate. She was a cashier at Wal-Mart with 17 years of service and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her father she is survived by her husband of 44 years, Bill Chancey; daughter Lisa Pauley and her husband Steve; her grandchildren Morganne, Megan and Mason Pauley; brothers David Shumate and Billy Shumate of Oceana and Jerry Shumate of Virginia; sisters Phyllis Osborne of Oceana, Darlene Bailey of Pineville, Kathy Livingston of North Carolina and Tina Helmandollar of Oceana; brother in law Bobby Chancey of Harrisville; sisters in law Wanda Bush and Doris Wilson of Ripley. In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by a sister in law, Freda Good. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Sunday, August 30, 2015 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with John Gunther officiating. Burial will be in the Fairplain Cemetery, Ripley.
