Shirley Ann Whisman, 77, of Ripley passed away Monday, April 2, 2018 at Camden Clark Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born May 2, 1940 at Osaka, VA a daughter of the late George and Helen Rose Jones. She was a member of the West Ripley Baptist Church. She is survived by her children John Whisman (Dorisa West) of Sissonville and Debbie Parsons (Don) of Evans; Brother Donald Washington Jones; Sisters Katherin Marie Ellis, Betty Ruth Fannin, and Mable Ruth Forbes; Grandchildren Mandy Rhodes (Derek), David Ball (Jessica), Ryan Parsons; Great-Grandchildren Kiera Casto, Ethan Rhodes, Taylor Ball, Hayden Ball, and Liam Ball. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Whisman and Sisters Barbara Jean Sanders and Mary Alice Marsee. Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Dr. Franklin Howerton officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
