Stanley "Keith" Thomas

Stanley “Keith” Thomas, 79, of Aplin Ridge, Gay, WV, passed this life at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley on February 18, surrounded by family and friends. Keith was born April 6, 1939 at Belgrove to the the late Charles “Ivan” and Mildred Scarberry Thomas. He was preceded in death by one brother, Dempsey Thomas. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Doris Hughes Thomas; four sons Stanley Keith Thomas II of Ravenswood, Joseph Thomas of Aplin Ridge, Samuel D. “Rocky” Thomas of Millwood, and Charles “Jay” Thomas of Cottageville; eight grandchildren Beth, Heather, Zachary, Dustin, Brianna, Jonathan, Nathan, and Dylan; Eight great-grandchildren Oakley, Ivory, Mya, Zayah, Jayla, Chloe, Cami, and Jona. Keith graduated from Ripley High School in 1957 and drilled water wells until going to work at Kaiser Aluminum in 1968. He retired in 1999 to help care for his parents and fight his long and courageous battle with cancer. We wish to thank Dr. Snyder and the staff at Jackson General Hospital for being so kind to us at this time, and Pastor Danny Cummings for being there with us. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, February 22nd at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Danny Cummings officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
