Stephen D. Elmore, 72 of Walton, went home to meet his Lord and Savior on June 27, 2022. He was born June 21, 1950 in Charleston, a son of the late Forrest and Gatha Brisendine Elmore. He worked in the construction industry as a carpenter and welder. He loved hunting and playing the guitar and writing songs that he played for his family. He is survived by his daughter Elizabeth “Liz” Robinette and her husband Jason; step-children, Ronny Evans and Eric Cochran; brothers Forrest Elmore, Larry Elmore and sister Darlene Moore; grandchildren, Candice Robinette, Nicole Cardwell, Kristen McCarty, Ronny Evans, Raliegh Evens, Hunter Evans, Jayden Evans, Tyler Taylor, Trevor Gillenwater, Trey Gillenwater, Syrus Cochran, Jordan Cochran, Morgan Cochran and Logan Cochran; his companion Linda Williams. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of friends who will miss him. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Jennifer Stout and brothers Bill Elmore and Randall Elmore. A celebration of his life will be 6:00 pm Saturday, July 2, 2022 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. A time of visitation with the family will be from 5:00 pm until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family are preferred.
