Stephen R. Pursley

Stephen Russell Pursley, 41 of Palestine, Wirt County, WV, passed away unexpectantly on June 27, 2023 at his home.

He was born November 26, 1981 in Parkersburg, son of Joyce McCoy Pursley and the late Andrew M. Pursley. He enjoyed riding his Harley and traveling and spending time with his dogs. He was an Ironworker by trade.

He is survived by his mother, Joyce Pursley of Palestine; sister Christy (Harry) Primm; brother Andrew Martin “Davy” (Melissa) Pursley both of Palestine and half brother, Michael (Vanessa) Pursley of Virginia; grandmother, Betty Pearl McCoy of Palestine and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his dog and best friend Pete.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Emery McCoy; grandparents Ida and Chester Pursley.

A time of visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 6 to 8 pm at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at the cemetery on the family farm in Palestine. Donations to help with expenses would be appreciated by the family.
