Steven Burl Jordan

Steven Burl Jordan, 53, of Orlando, Fl went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 23, 2017 surrounded by his wife and three boys following a long illness. Steve was born on August 24, 1963 in Charleston, WV to Janet and the late Pete Jordan. Janet currently resides with his brother Chuck in St. Augustine, Fl. He was a 1982 graduate of Ripley High School where he excelled in both academics and athletics. He was the third state champion in wrestling for Ripley, he was first team all state in his senior year in baseball and was the defensive captain on the football team. Many people would go to the football games just to watch him play. After high school, he eventually moved to Orlando, Fl and graduated with a BA in Business from the University of Central Florida. He then went into the army in the early 90's, shortly after the start of the war in Iraq. He went through Officer Candidate School and became an officer, where he retired in March as a Major. Steve loved his family and his three boys more than life itself and poured his heart and soul into them. His greatest passion was baseball and he had the boys playing as soon as they could walk. He loved his three boys with every breath he could muster. But his faith was strong and sure and he knows that the foundation has been laid for them to become great men one day. Steve was a special guy, very kind and generous. Steve is survived by his wife of 15 years, Minerva Santos; sons Steven 15, Charlie, 14 and Bruce 8; one step-son, Fernando; mother, Janet; brother, Chuck and sister, Rhea. In addition to his father, Pete, he was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Isis. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley. Friends may call from 6 to 9 pm Friday, June 30, 2017 at teh funeral home.
