Steven C. Koontz

Steven Craig Koontz, 60, of Ripley, passed peacefully in his sleep on the 5th day of June 2025.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 23 years, Michelle Koontz, daughter Elizabeth, and stepsons Daniel and Samuel Parsons. He is also survived by his mother, Bonnie Koontz, brother Chris Koontz, sister-in-law Meredith Koontz, nephews Isaac, Ethan and Eli Koontz and nieces Olivia Koontz  and Andrea Barr and great niece Zoe Barr. He is preceded in death by his brother, Tony Koontz; father, John Thomas “JT”Koontz, as well as many aunts and uncles.

Steven was an avid drummer, playing for a time in several gospel groups such as the Young Believers, The Tigners, and of course his family group, The Koontz Family. He also played drums during service at Goldtown Community Church, where he was a long-time parishioner.

Steven will be greatly missed by his family, and many friends.

A celebration of life will be held at Goldtown Community Church on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 6:30 pm, with Rev. Al Mendez, Aaron Jones and Rob Bumpus officiating. A time of visitation with the family will be from 5:00 pm until the time of service on Saturday at the church.
