Sue Thomas, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, went home to be with
her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025, leaving behind a
legacy of love, faith, and joy.
She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 25 years, Emery Thomas; her daughter
Cynthia (Brent) Randolph; step-daughter Dawna Kaye Greathouse; six cherished
grandchildren, Timothy Randolph, Vivian Merveille, Alissa Lowe, Connor Greathouse, and
Daelynn Randolph; her brother Woody (Juanita) Raines; sister Brenda (Mike) Nutter; sister-
in-law Dianne (Buck) Raines; and several nieces and nephews.
Sue was preceded in death by her loving parents, Daris and Dorthlean Raines, and her
brother, Buck Raines.
Sue lived her life with a heart full of joy and gratitude. She found delight in the simple
things—worshiping at church, lifting her voice in song, browsing Goodwill for treasures,
and decorating her home with warmth and care. But above all, her greatest joy was loving
her family. She poured out her heart in encouragement, laughter, and the kind of love that
reflected the love of Christ.
Her family and friends take comfort in knowing that Sue is now rejoicing in the presence of
her Savior, free from pain, singing with the heavenly choir, and waiting for the day of
reunion promised in God’s Word.
