Tabitha Marie Parsons, 41, of Ripley, W.Va., passed away unexpectedly Aug. 26, 2022, at Charleston Area Medical Center. She was born March 14, 1981, in Jackson County, W.Va., the daughter of Ruth Stover and the late Kenton Parsons. In addition to her beloved father, she was preceded in death by her grandfather Okey Parsons, grandmother Mary McPhearson, and grandfather Robert Hart. Survivors include her son Mason Storm Davis of Ripley, mother Ruth Ann Stover and stepfather Joseph Stover II of Evans, grandmother Nellie Parsons of Aplin Ridge, step grandparents Joseph and Deloris Stover of Ripley, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Also surviving are her companion Roger Adkins II of Ripley and his daughter Annamaria Adkins of Parkersburg. After graduating from Ripley High School in 1999, Tabby worked at the former Ripley Save-A-Lot in order to put herself through college to obtain a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from West Virginia University at Parkersburg. She did all this while raising her son, Mason, as a single mom. Due to Mason's struggles with autism, Tabby became a strong advocate for autism awareness. Tabby had a strong work ethic. In recent years, she worked for the State of West Virginia in multiple roles, including for the Public Service Commission, the Regional Jail Authority, and, most recently, as a case-worker for the Department of Health and Human Resources. Tabby also fostered and cared for her nephew, Cole Bookman, from the time he was 13 until his high school graduation. Tabby had a radiant and quirky personality, with a love and light that touched everyone in her life. She loved horror films and rock music. In her last year, she attended numerous concerts and saw some of her favorite bands. She had a big heart for animals, especially dogs, and showered them with love whenever she saw them. After her death, Tabby's corneas were donated to two separate recipients. Visitation will take place from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022, at Waybright Funeral Home in Ripley, with burial to follow at Creston Cemetery in Evans. In lieu of flowers, please send donations for Mason's living expenses to Ruth Stover, ℅ Mason Davis at 3271 Creston Road, Evans 25241.
