Terry R. Clapp

Terry R. Clapp, 70, of Ripley passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at his home with his family at his side. He was welcomed into heaven after a yearlong battle with cancer. He was born November 8, 1945 in Syracuse, New York. A son of the late Raymond and Tressie (Chitt) Clapp. Terry retired from CAMC Memorial in 2011 where he worked as a histology supervisor for 16 years. He enjoyed his career for 45 years, the people he worked with, and perfecting new techniques. He served his country in the United States Air Force until he was honorably discharged in 1970. Following his discharge he attended Bethany Nazarene College where he graduated with a bachelors degree in 1975. Terry was an active member in his church, Lakeview Baptist Church, and truly loved his family in Christ. He enjoyed many activities with his family, gardening, and farming. Terry and his wife Linda were co-workers in their dairy, TLC Farm Goat Dairy. He enjoyed taking care of the goats but his favorite job was serving his customers every Saturday at the farmers market. Terry will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife Linda Grubbs Clapp; children Raymond Clapp (Noel) Michelle Stoia (Marcel), Christian Jones, Heather Clapp, Todd Clapp, and Shelly Clapp and; grandsons Joshua and Jeremy Stoia; brothers and sisters Randy Clapp (Mary Lynne), Lynn Clapp (Carol), Wendy Kidd (Shelly Spalding), and Cindy Weeks (Mark). Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Bill Holley officiating. Friends may call on the family from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Burial with Military Rites by the Jackson County Honor Guard will follow in the Parsons Cemetery, Gay.
