Thomas L. Roberts

Thomas L. Roberts, 75, of Ripley passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Valley Center in South Charleston following an extended illness.

Tom was born April 13, 1948 in Charleston, WV a son of the late Jacob Carl and Icy (Debord) Roberts.

Tom was a coal miner by trade and retired after 34 years of service. He proudly served his county in the United States Army 101st Airborne Division and was a Vietnam War veteran. Tom enjoyed the outdoors and spent time hunting and traveling to the mountains. He was a member of the Grasslick Baptist Church where he also served as a deacon.

Tom is survived by his wife of 54 years, Billie (Headrick) Roberts; children Angela Castle and Chris Roberts (Tiffany); siblings Carol Aaron, Judith Atkins (Jerry), Alan Roberts and Ricky Roberts (Diana); grandchildren Mark Castle, Cassidy Smith (Gavin), Madalyn Roberts and McKinlee Roberts and great-grandchildren Griffin and Ada Smith.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by siblings Ramona Hord, Mary Ingram and Kenneth Roberts.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, June 4th at the Grasslick Cemetery, Kenna with Military Rites rendered by the Jackson County Honor Guard.
