Vanessa Lynn Harpold

Vanessa L. Harpold, 63 of Leroy, passed away February 22, 2023 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, WV, following an extended illness.

She was born October 11, 1959 in Ripley, daughter of Eurada Mae Casto Rhodes and the late Woodrow Wilson Rhodes. She worked as a Realtor for Cunningham Realty for 20 years and, prior to that, at Quality Farm and Fleet. She enjoyed making jewelry and gardening especially in her flowers. Her greatest love was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, and planning fun Halloween parties and trips to Emerald Isle Beach.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, William “Bill” Harpold; her children Shelly (David) Lowry, Jenny (Stuart) Hager and Billy (Hallie) Harpold; her mother, Mae Rhodes; grandchildren, Megan and Lindsey Lowry, Mahalia Hager and Jaxyn Harpold.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Haught.

Funeral Service will be 7:00 pm Monday, February 27, 2023 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastors Herman Robinson and Bob Keen officiating. A time of visitation with the family will be from 5:00 pm until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
