Veldra L. "Andy" Anderson

Veldra L. "Andy" Anderson, 83, of Leroy passed away August 13, 2015 at Marietta Memorial Hospital following a long illness. He was born May 8, 1932 at Fairplain, son of the late Lester and Dora Gandee Anderson. He was a Veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean War. He retired from Century Aluminum after 30 years of service and was a Farmer all of his life on his farm. "Andy" enjoyed Hunting and fishing but most of all he enjoyed spending time and taking care of his family. After he retired he enjoyed working on his farm as well as working everyday on his sons Dairy Farm. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janice Kinder Anderson; four children, Dwight (Lori) Anderson of Sandyville, Dora (Mike) Spaur of Mineral Wells, Jennifer (Rick) Hill of Edmond, OK and Sally (Randy) Spaur of Mineral Wells; 9 grandchildren, Sabrina (Ben) Stanley, Nathan Spaur, Adam Spaur, Andrew (Alex) Spaur, Amanda Anderson, Brad Cline, Daniel Anderson, Stephanie Hill and Ashley Hill; four great grandchildren Alexis, Landon and Austin Stanley and Breille McCutchan. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Leo, Burton and Delbert and a sister Martha. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, August 18, 2014 at the Wayright Funeral Home, Ripley with Jeff Dorton, Minister, officiating. Burial with Military Rites will be in the Meadowdale Cemetery, Leroy. Friends may call on the family from 2 to 8 pm Monday, August 17 at the funeral home.
