Velma "Ilene" Skeen

Velma “Ilene” Parsons Skeen, 89, of Kenna passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 following an extended illness. She was born March 13, 1928 at Kenna a daughter of the late Howard Otho Parsons and Pearl Redman Skeen. She is survived by her daughter Anita Edens (Leon) of Kenna; Grandson Michael Slaughter of Ripley; Brothers Veldra Parsons of Mineral Wells, Howard Keith Parsons of Charleston, and Gary Parsons of Parkersburg; Sister Carolyn Sue Balis of Sandyville; and Son-In-Law Eugene Slaughter of Ripley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Victor L. Skeen, daughter Sharon Slaughter, and Grandson Jason Griffith. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2017 at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Aaron Finney officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ilene’s memory to Kanawha Hospice or the American Heart Association.
