Vicki Lee Samples

Vicki Lee Samples, 62, of Cottageville left this world suddenly in DeLand, FL and entered Heaven’s Gate on Friday, July 22, 2022. Vicki was born August 22, 1959 in Charleston, WV a daughter of the late Denny Paul and Roma Lee Arthur Harrison. She was a 1977 graduate of Ripley High School, as well as a graduate of Marshall University and Ripley School of the Bible. Vicki retired as a secretary with Jackson County Schools after many years of service. She was a faithful and dedicated member of the Ripley Baptist Temple where she was involved with many ministries and was always glad to help out with anything that was asked of her and did it with a smile on her face. Vicki is survived by her loving husband Gary Michael Samples; children Rebekah Skurupey (Logan), Jacob Samples (Mary) and Gary Michael Samples II (Rachel). Vicki is also survived by 10 grandchildren who affectionately referred to her as Nan Nan Gregory Skurupey, Nora Lee Skurupey, Gavin, Lily, Anabelle and Juliet Samples and Huck, Halle, Shepherd and Noah Samples. In addition to her parents Vicki was preceded in death by a brother, D.P. Harrison Jr. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6-9 p.m. at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. A home going service to celebrate Vicki’s life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 30th at the Ripley Baptist Temple with Pastors Rick Perrine and Jacob Samples officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery in Roane County. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Vicki’s memory to the Ripley Baptist Temple Food Pantry, 320 Charleston Dr., Ripley, WV 25271.
