Virginia Josephine Groves

Virginia Josephine Groves 92 was born April 24, 1920 at Elkhurst, WV and passed away at her home in Ripley April 14, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was a member of The Church of God of Prophecy in Sand Fork, WV. She has been a member of the Church of God for 55 years and is the last charter member of the Stouts Mill Church. She joined the church November of 1958 and she has been a Christian for 71 years. She is a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother and she will be lovingly missed. She is survived by two sons: James Edward and Margaret Groves of Cortland, OH, Kenneth Lee and Alberta Groves of South Point, OH; two daughters Juanita Conrad of Ripley and Glada Conrad of Carrollton, GA; nine grandchildren, Bev Akens and Sandy Rice both of Ripley, Scott and Gregory Groves of Ohio, Danny and Mark Conrad of Georgia, Monica Rhyne, Chip and Brandon Groves all of Parkersburg; nine great grandchildren, Zachary and Kasey Akens of Ripley, Justin and Chelsea Conrad of Georgia, Kody and Tyler Rhyne of Parkersburg, Chloe and Grayson Groves of Columbus, OH and Adison Groves of Cortland, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband Emmit Arden Groves in 1986, one sister Bertha Kuhl in January 2013, three brothers Lester Drake in 1986, Donald Drake in 2008 and Herman Drake in 1978. Funeral Service will be held at the Church of God of Prophecy in Sand Fork at 12:00 noon with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating with burial in the Church Cemetery on Duck Camp Road. Friends may call from 6 to 9 pm Tuesday at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley and one hour prior to the service at the Church.
