Virginia Arlene Hardesty

Virginia Arlene Hardesty, 76, of Ripley passed away Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Mountain View Care Center in Ripley.

Virginia was born August 21, 1949 at Sandyville, WV a daughter of the late Ida Mae (Utt) Smith. In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her grandparents who helped raise her, John Savanah Utt; 7 siblings; father of her children, Howard Keith Gandee; brother Robert “Buster” Gandee and granddaughter Cassandra Miller.

Viriginia is survived by her children: Marsha Miller (Christopher Jr.), Merle Gandee, Marshall Gandee and Zachary Gandee; sister Ruby Comer; grandchildren Courtney Miller, Christopher Miller III, Dillon Gandee (Krista), Dalton Gandee (Kerrigan), Addison Gandee, Benjamin Gandee, Hannah Gandee and Elizabeth Gandee and great-grandchildren Easton Gandee, Mason Gandee, Kennedy Gandee, Kallie Gandee, Alena Hosey and Oakland Hosey.

Virginia loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, who were the apple of her eye. She also enjoyed watching Westerns.
