Wilda M. Smith Parsons, 83 of Ripley, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, went home to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, May 20, 2015 at Eldercare of West Virginia, Ripley, following a long illness. She was born February 20, 1932 at Charleston, daughter of the late Glenn Monroe and Bessie Blanche Blackshire Smith. She was a homemaker and most of her life she was a Christian. She was a very caring and loving person, and her many acts of kindness and thoughtfulness will not be forgotten. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Waldo C. Parsons; Sister Wanda Matheny Haines and brothers Donald Paul, Frank, Wilbur and Walter Smith. She is survived by her daughter Gloria Cox and her husband Don of Cottageville; sisters Rose (Mike) Brooks of Marysville, OH and Verlie Payne of Cottageville; brothers Glen Smith Jr. of Ravenswood and James E. (Betty) Smith of Letart; her grandchildren Holly Johnson of Cottageville and Justin (Stephanie) Cox of Ripley; 8 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Sunday, May 24, 2015 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery, Kentuck. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
