William Gerald Kennerly, 70 of Ripley, passed away November 14, 2017 at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston following a long illness. He was born February 21, 1947 in Queens, NY, son of the late Clarence and Rebecca Gray Kennerly. William was an Air Force Veteran and served in Vietnam. He worked as a High Rise Window Washer in New York City and in Delaware. He loved to dance and listen to the Temptations, watch Boxing and Wrestling and playing the Lottery. William never knew a stranger and loved to talk to anyone that he could strike up a conversation. He is survived by his wife Karen Null Kennerly; step children Cathy Lawrence and James Simmons; sisters Elsie Smith of Rockaway, NY, Patricia Kennerly of Delaware; step grandchildren Jacob, Kaleb and Cody Lawrence and Derrick Simmons and Jamie Shinn; nieces Robin and Dana and nephew Derrick. Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Friday, November 17, 2017 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Burial with Military Rites provided by the Jackson County Honor Guard will be in the Casto Cemetery, Ripley. Friends may call from 1:00 pm until the time of the service on Friday at the Funeral Home.
