William Michael “Billy” Lena, 74 of Leon, WV, passed away April 5, 2018 at his home following a long illness. He was born April 3, 1944 in Mt. Kisco, NY a son of the late William and Rachel Capitini Lena. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War. He worked as a carpenter in the construction industry. Billy loved woodworking and made Memorial Flag Boxes for many of his Veteran Friends. His joy in life was his family and his animals and he loved laughter and making people laugh. He is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years Liz Lena; his children, Kristen (Richard) Poczulp, Carly Lena, Brian Lena and Dennis ( Mary Ellen) McLaughlin; his siblings, Bobby (Ann) Lena, Victor (Patti) Lena, Shelly Daniele, Lisa (Scott) Whalen, Anna Speno and Michael Lena and his grandchildren, Reese, Ryan, Ava, Luke, Lara and Katie. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Chaplin Pete Thompson officiating. A time of visitation with the family will be from 1:00 pm until the time of service on Sunday at the funeral home. Following the service Veterans Rites will be provided by the Jackson County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations in memory of Billy to the Kanawha Hospice, 1606 Kanawha Blvd W, Charleston, WV 25387.
