William "Bill" H. Minger, 78, of Charleston passed away Thursday, October 30, 2025 at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston.
Bill was born July 23, 1947, in Wetzel County, a son of the late Cecil and Alpha Mae Minger.
Bill was a lifelong truck driver starting at the age of 18 for Purity Made. He would then go on to become a member of the Teamsters Union Local 175 where he drove for UPS and received many safe driving awards as well as the 1 Million Mile Award. Bill loved being a member of the Teamsters and enjoyed all the time he got spending with his fellow members at the bar. He also enjoyed cars and was very proud of his 2002 Collector's Thunderbird, watching NASCAR spending time with his grandchildren (even if it meant having to come to Jackson County) and all the family vacations they took.
Bill is survived by his daughters Dionne Ratliff and Stephanie Minger; grandchildren Corey Ratliff, Blake Ratliff, Antonio Jones and Ashton McCoy; great-grandchildren Marco Ratliff, A'xuri Jones and Kayden and Kyson Jones. He is also survived by his 2 cats, BL and BL Jr.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 5th at the Teamsters Local 175 Union Hall, 267 Staunton Ave. SW, South Charleston, WV 25303 with Mark Norman officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sandy Horton, for always being there to help, Dr. Lindsey Stull and staff and speech therapist Beth Farly for their exceptional care and kindess. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bill's memory to the American Cancer Society. Online memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.waybrightfuneralhome.com
