William P. Rose

William “Bill” Preston Rose, 65 of Ripley, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Charleston Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He was born December 9, 1952 in Bluefield, WV, a son of the late William A. and Eileen Dunman Rose. He was an Engineering Draftsman for Columbia Gas and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ripley. Bill enjoyed gardening and was a member of the I.O.O.F. in Ripley. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Carlene Menear Rose; son Jeremy B. Rose of Omaha, NE; daughter Kelsey N. Rose of Ripley and sister Kerry Rose of Wake Forest, NC. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an uncle Larry Decker, several cousins and extended family members. In honoring his wishes, he will be cremated. A celebration Bills Life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 14, 2018 the First Presbyterian Church in Ripley. A time of visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley is serving the family.
