Wilma Jean Wilson

On May 19, 2024, Wilma Jean (Rhodes) Wilson left her earthly life behind.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Rebecca (Sommerville) Rhodes; husband Fred and one sister and seven brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, Connie Jean; her beloved cat, Sassy; one brother, one sister and a host of extended family.

Not having the chance to finish her education, Wilma was proud to have earned her GED at age 54. Over the course of her life she worked at H & P Department store, cooked for Roane County Schools, was a presser at Main Street Dry Clearner, cleaned motel rooms and was a caregiver to three elderly ladies. She proudly served on the Reedy Town Council for several years. Most of all she was a homemaker, creating and giving away many beautiful quilts. Wilma brought smiles to face with her excellent cooking, especially apple pies, baked steak, dumplings and sweet potato casserole. Per her arrangements she made herself, she will be cremated with no public services. Waybright Funeral Home is honored to serve the Wilson family.
