Zula Marguerite Shamblen

March 22, 1930 — March 5, 2017

Zula Marguerite Shamblen, 86 of Kenna, passed away March 5, 2017 at Ravenswood Care Center following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born March 22, 1930 at Kenna, a daughter of the late Willie Cecil and Minerva Harrison Stalnaker. Marguerite was a homemaker and member of Warren Chapel Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Brian Shamblen and a brother Charles Everett Stalnaker. She is survived by sons Randy Dale (Kerrianne) Shamblen of Rhode Island and Russell Glen (Mary) Shamblen of New York; daughter Joyce (Jeffery) McDougle of Vienna; grandchildren Brian, Steven, Karilyn, William, Rebecca, Darcy and Nathaniel. Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Sunday, March 12, 2017 at eh Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Lloyd Keith officiating. Entombment will be in the Jackson county Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Cottageville. Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the funeral home. Many Special Thanks to longtime, loving caregiver, Pauline Parsons. Thank you Pauline for helping Mom stay at home all those years. Thanks also for the comforting care received from the staff of Ravenswood Care Center. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in memory of Marguerite to the Alzheimer’s Association, Charleston, West Virginia, 1601 2nd Avenue, Charleston, WV 25387.
